Favorite poet

Well, I think my favorite poet would probably be a Russian-American poet called Joseph brodsky.

Exiled from Russia for his Jewish heritage, he would move to America. He would begin translating his Russian poems to English, and make two versions of most future poetry. However, he had always kept a love for Russian culture, and when surprised at Americas much smaller poetry following, he would work to put small anthologies of poetry in hotels and various other "waiting places"

One of the most unique things about his poetry is the way he reads it, which gives it a melancholic, reminiscing, slightly nostalgic feeling. Now unfortunately much of his English works lack that trademark reading, however, if I was to recommend a poem to listen to which retains that feeling, it would be "I wish you were here, dear...."
